The title President mMohammadu Buhari: A difficult brand to manage.
by Okwo Romeon
The title President mohammadu Buhari(PMB) may be the most popular name
in Nigeria households just as it could be the most difficult brand of names to
manage,
Be you a communication expert from America, the Uk, or France, the synonym of
President mohammadu Buhari is a huge challenge to pass across to the masses
now.
In the first two to three years of his administration, the expectations of the
citizens would have overridden such innuendo if the president has turn the
expectations of the people around by giving Nigerians hope for their votes,
but like the proverbial saying, ”the more you look, the less you understand “
has kept most Nigerians population wondering if the baba some of them purchase
recharge cards with their hard end money to campaign and voted to the office
is the man in the mirror.
The like of the Nnamdi Kanu, the Biafra Separatist agitator almost succeeded
when he uses social media campaigns to mislead his fellow members of the
imposition of one Jubril a Sudanese in place of President mohammandu Buhari.
It is a prefix the presidency never reacted to for any day but the actions of
President Buhari in the last six years have almost painted away from the
picture of unbelief from the masses mind.
Nigerians are wondering if Buhari was the no-nonsense young energetic minister
who oversees the petroleum ministry in 1977, which recommendations led to the
building of the new refineries in the country.
Nigerians are also at amidst if the PMB of today was the Heldman in 1983 when
the county had her epoch form of discipline.
The few days of fuel scarcity in Abuja, Lagos, and several others cities
across the nation tell the kind of hardships Nigerians are passing through. At
a peak of galloping inflation, the style of PMB governances has not changed,
the crew of Buhari Ministers still show the masses that the government is not
there for them. The purpose of government has been theorized up down as the
basic welfare of security of lives and property is no longer the quint of the
Buhari-led APC government again. the style of government is what is been
described as to-your-tenth-oh- Israel where every Nigerian is an autonomous
local government to itself and provides the nitty-gritty of government. from
security to basic needs like electricity and water why government agencies and
cooperate organizations later stole from the poor masses.
In the country, where visually all institutions of the government are created
to generate revenues, Nigerians have become the milky tap that every
government agency plucked its revenues why one ten of the percent go to the
government buffer and the rest is meals by the corrupt personnel’s who maned
these agencies only to serve their personal interests or that of their boss
why the motive which the agencies were established become mischievous in the
public eyes. The like of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Vehicle
inspection (VIO) Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON) Petroleum Pricing
Market Company (PPMC), etc has consistently explored Nigerians instead of
carrying out the basic functions which they were created. most of the positive
achievements of these Agencies only come to news pages when Nigerians refuse
to settle them either because such Nigerians are of low economic capabilities
or have no connection to big politicians or high ranking officers to help.
The aggregations of some of these problems were what gave voices to the change
mantras in 2015 which people like myself and so many Nigerians decide to the
pathway with the then government of Maxi Goodluck Ebere Jonathan and his
people’s Democratic Party (PDP) which many believed had plundered our
resources enough with the transformation and fresh air agenda meant to cool
the bells of his cronies, party friends and some of his families lineages.
But six years down the road, the Brand PMB and its APC-led government have
given much hardship to Nigerians that PDP members are now marking their
scorecard with a long good.
Although I was warned when I put up my support Campaign group “the #PMB4now”
during the two terms of Mr. President, I recalled, a friend told me, that his
dad informed him that,” General Buhari only believed in his tribes” , I wave
him off with all my energy’s why I informing him how I met the general in a
gifted apartment in Asokoro during his reign as CPC Presidential candidate and
the people I met around him were all different tribes, especially his cook who
is a believing Christian from my state. But the current deposition of Buhari
appointments and some of his Cabinet member's positions on national issues
justify my friend's father stakes. I don’t want to sound it like a good record
but the truth has been told, Nigerians are more divided as a nation than at
any time in our national lives.
A keen Observer with little understanding of economic elementary will still
give the APC government an average over its opposition, the decisive posture
of the PMB administration over some critical issues as it concern other tribes
and regions make it difficult to put one head in a basket of one-Nigeria as
this administration wanted us to believe.
For example, it takes one week to proscribe IPOB as a terrorist
organization while it takes several years to beg the government to call the
bandits a terrorist group even with a clear cut of mayhem declared on the
state of the federal republic of Nigeria. Ghana, a Benue repented gang leader
was executed even when he embraced amnesty of the state government by the
Nigeria Army, why the same Army officer leads many bandits leaders to Mets the
Katsina state governor, Amina Masera for arms pardon. a country where they are
different laws for its class of citizens only buy time, the laws of the jungle
will catch up with all.
Why the essence of these articles is not stopped Nigerians from constructive
criticizing the media managers of the President, the Lia Mohammed, and my
respected senior brothers, Femi Adesina and the Sheuhu Garubas, Buhari
image management is beyond the mentions personality, why the inner cycles of
the President destroy his very reputation, the Media managers are left with no
option than to do their jobs,after-all,” his who pay the piper dictate the
tune” we all knew the reputation of the media gurus before joining the Buhari
train, the myth of the matter is that you can not separate personalities from
governance, Buhari is an ethnic cynic and regional bigotry, so whatever the
media manager doe to manage him is an afterthought, as the said goes, “action
speaks louder than voice” the President is over the time has refused to listen
to pieces of advice from some good elder statesmen to change the course of
direction of the country. The like of Father Mathew Kuka the Archbishop of
Sokoto Diocese and well-meaning other Nigerians has to be carpeted as an enemy
of the administration based on their advice.
As the 2023 election draw closer, Nigerians had another opportunity to take
their destiny into their hand again. it is left for Nigerians to elect their
leader of preference, should we elect leaders that are sectionals, ethics
sedimentary, or religious dogmatic, time will tell. So far, the coast is
pointing in such a direction again but Nigerians must resist such temptation
because if we can not find our rhythms with all the sufferings we are passing
through, we will never get it right soon.ohammadu Buhari(PMB) may be the
