Obudu Council Leader empowers over 149 farmers in Cross River By David Odama
The Speaker of speakers of councils in Cross River state, Hon Eneji Sam Ashibi has empowered over 149 farmers with imputes and cash donations to boost food security in his council ward. Hon. Ashibi who doubles as the Leader of the Obudu Legislative Council, said the empowermennts of the 149 farmers in his constituents, Utugwang North Ward with farm implements, cash and household items was part of his efforts to support their livelihoods and improve their welfare. Ashibi who described the gesture as his modest way of given back to the society as well as saying thank you to the people for their support and goodwill over the years. The empowerment programme, held at Utugwang North Ward in Obudu Local Government Area of Cross River State, came during activities surrounding the annual Obudu New Yam Festival, celebrated every first Saturday of September.
