The Nigerian Navy has strengthened inter-service cooperation with the Nigerian Army following a courtesy visit and study tour by the Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management (NACOLM) to the Western Naval Command Headquarters in Lagos.
The study tour, held on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, brought together senior officers of both services to engage on professional issues bordering on logistics, management, and operational practices.
According to the Nigerian Navy, the visit was aimed at deepening collaboration and promoting greater understanding between the Army and Navy, particularly in joint operational planning and institutional synergy.
During the engagement at the Western Naval Command, officials of NACOLM and WNC held extensive discussions focused on professional interaction, knowledge sharing, and enhancing inter-service logistics management
The Navy described the engagement as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen professional cooperation and build stronger institutional relationships between the two armed services in line with the Armed Forces of Nigeria joint operations doctrine.
The visit also featured a presentation on Western Naval Command operations and the exchange of commemorative items between participating officers.
The collaboration comes amid increased joint operations by the Nigerian military to address security challenges across maritime and land domains, including counter-piracy operations in Lagos waters and logistics support for internal security operations nationwide.
