NCYAD COMMENDS PRESIDENT TINUBU FOR CREATING NCDC: CANVASS FOR BOARD APPOINTMENT By: Musa Isah


Members of the North Central Youth Advocacy for Development (NCYAD) held a Solidarity Rally at the National Assembly Entrance, Abuja, expressing gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for creating the North Central Development Commission (NCDC). 

Speaking to newsmen, the Convener of the Rally, Hon. Salihu Musa Ovaku, said the establishment of the NCDC by the present Administration led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is an answered prayer and agitations of the youth of the region over the years. 

He explained the establishment of the commission aside bringing meaningful development to the region, will also foster unity among the various ethnic groups, thereby serving as organ of unity for the people.

Hon. Musa Ovaku averred that the present administration having granted the youths yearning and aspiration, request that the youth should be carried along inthe board membership appointment, when it is being constituted.

His words, “we the youth (NCYAD) want our own to be appointed in the leadership of the commission, so as to enable us contribute our quota to the development of the region. 

Hon. Ovaku, who has been involved in Youth advocacy including campaign for the establishment of NCDC, pointed out that the establishment of the commission will help to proffer solution to the problems facing the region, which include youth unemployment, lack of infrastructural development and insecurity. 

The Rally, also had display of play cards that reads North Central Youth advocacy for development; North Central youth are advocating for Hon Musa Ovaku as board member of NCDC; we want our own on the board of NCDC; Kogi State youths want North Central Stakeholders to give us Hon. Musa Ovaku as board Member of NCDC among others. 

The youths representatives at the rally were drawn from Kogi, Nassarawa, Plateau and Niger state respectively
