The Association of Igede Media Professionals (AIMP) is appalled by the gruesome murder of two young Igede men, Gabriel Ogoda and Ogah Jonathan Ukoh, who were ambushed and brutally killed along the Ulam axis of the Oju-Awajir Road in Benue State. The victims were attacked while traveling on motorcycles, and their bikes were stolen.

Demands for Justice

AIMP demands that the Benue State Government takes immediate action to:

1. Investigate the murder and arrest the perpetrators

2. Deploy security forces to the affected area to prevent further attacks

3. Engage with local communities to foster intelligence gathering and peacebuilding

Solidarity with the Bereaved Families

AIMP stands in solidarity with the families of the victims and the entire Igede community, calling for justice and accountability. We urge the Benue State Commissioner of Police, DSS, and other security agencies to launch a full-scale manhunt for the killers.

Call to Action

We urge all Igede sons and daughters to remain calm, united, and vigilant while AIMP and other stakeholders push for justice using all lawful means.
