Now the smoke is here
Now that the smoke is here !!

It is politics time again, just like the offering time in our churches, where the name of God is symbolized with giving, this time around, praise be to the people as the politicians are home again to beg for your votes.
Although, the smoke is snoging within the state and our stake is the local government chairmen and our own Councilorship.all this while,it being come and chop politics, without us knowing what, the person that want to led us have in offer, some had not tell us what they can do or offer to us,gods father mentality still run their imagination,we all observed with the heights of dismay how the parties primaries were conducted, very mundane as it defiled the principle of selections.
We saw interest which will almost tear our unity as a community being played by party members, some of them forget history of the community and head-bend on what they stand to gain, why none of the canidiates has told us what they has for us,they keep reminding us it is PDP state and we should just cast our votes and at the end of the day,Gabu never get anything back for voting such candiates.
From our own daughter #ReginaAyogo to Hon.Jarigbe and to Senator Rose Oko,it is almost a wasted votes from our community.
What we have, it is "my sister syndrome" where only close family members are taken to Calabar and Facebook sycophants that never seen the positive innovations of the social medias to pursue community agendas.
While the local government tier is the closer and the most important tier of government to the grassroots, we as people has never taking the leadership to this position very seriously,it could be the reasons,we have not have any meaningful contribution from this tier of government for a very long time now.
For example, the last time genius Convert was constructed in our community by the local government council of Cross River State was in 1989 or there about when the the Ajimole Convert and that of Adekpe was constructed by the late Hon. Eje Akpo,if I got my records rights because of my long visit, the Convert from Gabu to Osina was also started at almost same time but since then,we did not had any progress with that little brigde which should have given a kind of economic salvage especially for our mothers who constantly trade with Benue boarders communities.
The brigde has being a big problem as visionless Councilors from the community who succeeded this great men were unable to do anything for decades now to link the reconstruction of Osina to Gabu .
The local government elections are here again and we are people are not asking the right questions, what do we want as people,in an economic crushed state like Cross River state, what can a prospective Councilor do to influence the communities to the outside World, what vision is desirable from such person,do he or she posses the honesty drive of the Mr. Okpara our former Concilor stand for his community to warrant his suspension from the council in years past, what are the political pedigree of each of the candidates ,and how is he or she ready to take our fed back as community back to the Local government.
Many questions, I cannot dish out now,but is it very imperative we digest some of these thoughts if at all we need a good leader, where we zone our votes to our own daughter and for five years going she can't even sink a common borehole to any of the communities speak volumes of our kind of leaders,Gabulite are not known for this particular attitude we Alway remember ourselves, and proud of our community.
Mr Ode Simon Ikpakronyi is a shining example with
others ,his positive influence had touch us all,one way or the others,he will surely be remember for the good deed and we must learn from this principle,if we can hold each other hand in anywhere we are Gabu will be great for it.
I m too free as a person to believe in nepotism in small community like Gabu, all I believe is that,we had the best human capacities to make us the envy of the rest tribes in the state and local government, let love reign, let love for our communities suppress individual ambition, let preach peace and unity and let allow fairness in all our politics, you did not get today, does not mean you will get tomorow.
Before you go to cast that vote of your, remember, party had not bring us developments but a sincere daughter or son is a pride of the community anyway, anytime.God bless Gabu( GBG)
