Hajiya Aishatu Suleiman, popularly called the Queen of the Obudu-Hausa Community, has been conferred with an Excellence Award by the National Assembly Independent Publishers in collaboration with Basic Truth News Magazine

The award ceremony, held in Abuja, recognized her extensive humanitarian work with orphans, widows, the vulnerable, and her bridge-building efforts with the political class.

In her acceptance remarks, Hajiya Suleiman described the honor as a call to greater service. She urged political leaders to intensify efforts toward unemployed graduates and youths seeking educational support.

She commended Senator Agom, whom she called “the people’s senator,” and Hon. Peter Akpanke of the House of Representatives for their contributions to the Hausa community. She pledged continued prayers and support for both lawmakers while appealing for more interventions to address pending needs.

Chief Lecturer Abubakar Zakari of the Federal College of Education, Obudu, described the recipient as a philanthropist whose work cuts across social classes. He cited her role in linking the community with Hon. Akpanke, who supported the fencing of their graveyard. He however queried why only a few persons were invited to the event.

Youth Leader Comrade Lawal Abdullahi Mohammed said Hajiya Suleiman changed the community’s political perception. “Our people used to think our votes didn’t count. Hajiya brought us into politics,” he said, adding that the award was well deserved.

Other community members also lauded her accomplishments. Hajiya Suleiman dedicated the award to the Obudu-Hausa community and wished the lawmakers success in their service.
