NUJ Salutes Namadi’s Three Years of Governance, Cites Reforms and Development Gains Writing By Abdullahi Idris, Dutse

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Jigawa State Council, has commended Governor Umar Namadi for what it described as a remarkable record of achievements as he marks three years in office.

In a statement issued by the Council Chairman, Comrade Ismail Ibrahim Dutse, the union lauded the administration’s commitment to people-centred governance, noting that significant progress had been recorded in critical sectors of the state’s economy and social development.

According to the NUJ, the Namadi administration has made notable strides in food security, infrastructure development, education, agriculture, and the maintenance of peace and security across the state.

The union particularly highlighted the governor’s decision to lift the more than two-decade employment embargo, describing it as a landmark policy that opened the door for large-scale recruitment across various sectors and created job opportunities for thousands of residents.

It also praised the administration’s efforts in improving workers’ welfare through the prompt payment of salaries, gratuities and pensions, noting that the over ₦12 billion invested in the Contributory Pension Scheme reflects a commitment to safeguarding the future of retirees.

While acknowledging that challenges remain, the council urged the governor to sustain the momentum of development and remain focused on delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.

The NUJ expressed confidence that the administration would be remembered for fostering inclusive governance, sustainable growth and community-driven policies that have positively impacted the lives of citizens.

The council further reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening collaboration between the media and the Jigawa State Government in promoting transparency, accountability and socio-economic development across the state.
