2027: 'From Top to Bottom, APC Will Triumph' — Benue Majority Leader Cyril Ikong Backs Alia's Re-election Drive By Okwo Romeon

Makurdi — The Majority Leader of the Benue State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Cyril Ikong, has declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is firmly on course for a sweeping victory in the 2027 general elections, expressing confidence that the party will prevail "from top to bottom" across the country.

Speaking in Makurdi shortly after emerging as the APC candidate for the Oju II (Uwokwu) State Constituency, Ikong described his nomination as both an honour and a renewed mandate to deepen grassroots engagement and deliver greater dividends of democracy to his constituents.

According to him, his return to the Benue State House of Assembly will strengthen collaboration with the executive arm of government, enabling him to attract more infrastructure, appointments and development initiatives to his constituency.

"Public office is about service and results. It is about attracting development, opportunities and government presence to the people. I will continue to work closely with my stakeholders, traditional leaders, youths and women because leadership is ultimately about the people," he said.

Throwing his weight behind Governor Hyacinth Alia's popular "Yes Father" slogan, Ikong said the governor's performance over the last three years has earned him widespread public approval across Benue State.

Ikong say yes fada is a mandate any where.

He pointed to ongoing road construction projects, improved welfare for civil servants and enhanced access to healthcare as clear indicators of the administration's commitment to transforming the state.

Citing the reconstruction of the Ado Road and other strategic infrastructure projects, the Majority Leader noted that travel time to parts of Benue South has been drastically reduced, bringing tangible economic and social benefits to residents.

Ikong also dismissed claims that Benue South Senatorial District has been marginalised under the Alia administration, insisting that the zone has received equitable political appointments and developmental projects.

He highlighted the emergence of the district's first-ever Majority Leader in the Benue State House of Assembly, alongside the appointment of commissioners from the area into key ministries, as evidence of the government's inclusive approach.

The lawmaker further defended Governor Alia's decision to appoint a new Head of Service from the Igede area, describing it as a thoughtful move that brought comfort to the community following the loss of one of its respected sons.

Looking ahead to the 2027 elections, Ikong maintained that the APC remains the party to beat both in Benue State and nationally.

"The APC will win from top to bottom," he declared confidently, expressing optimism that the party's record in office and ongoing development projects would secure another resounding mandate from the electorate.
