The Zamfara State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure has commenced the technical assessment of the proposed Gusau Bypass Road, marking a significant step toward improving transportation and decongesting traffic within the state capital.

The assessment team, led by the Director of Civil Engineering, Engr. Tsalha Mayana, inspected the proposed route stretching from Kuraje through Kwanar Rawayya and linking the Mahuta–Sokoto Road.

The exercise is designed to evaluate the proposed alignment, assess the terrain, and gather critical engineering data required for the preparation of the project's technical proposal.

During the field inspection, the team examined the corridor and identified key engineering requirements necessary for the successful planning and execution of the bypass project.

When completed, the Gusau Bypass Road is expected to significantly reduce traffic congestion in Gusau metropolis, improve connectivity between communities, and facilitate the smooth movement of people and goods across the state.

The initiative aligns with the infrastructure development agenda of Governor Dauda Lawal, whose administration has prioritized road construction and rehabilitation as a catalyst for economic growth and sustainable development in Zamfara State.
