Messi’s Father Buried Amid Tears By Okwo Romeon

Lionel Messi has bid a final farewell to his father, Jorge Horacio Messi, who was laid to rest in Rosario, Argentina, in a private ceremony attended by family and close friends.

Jorge played a significant role in his son’s rise from a young footballer in Rosario to a global star. He supported Messi’s move to Spain as a teenager and later worked as his agent and adviser.

Away from football, Jorge was a trusted confidant and a constant presence in Messi’s life.

His death leaves a profound personal loss for the Argentina captain, who gathered with his family to honour his father and remember his life.

For Messi, the funeral marked the closing of a deeply personal chapter with the man who helped guide his journey from childhood to football greatness.
