NEITHER PDP NOR APC HAVE THE ANSWERS. by Okwo romeon’s

Image
I've written a series of articles about the current political climate as the country prepares for the next general election in 2023. In the last twenty years or thereabout, both the ruling party (APC) and the main opposition party (PDP) have not been able to find profound solutions to many of the problems confronting the nation, ranging from the insecurity that has almost consumed the entire country to the galloping inflation that has characterized everyday life of the common masses. It is now obvious that this is an over-the-bar game for Nigerians as we watch helplessly how the current political class has turned the nation's economy and political environment into an irreversible downward spiral of crisis. Either because the politicians in these parties have no answers to the questions, or because both parties that have clenched to power in the last two decades have deliberately refused to do the needful that would have put the country at its best bearing for develop...

The outcomes of the people Democrate Party (PDP) Zoning Committee headed by Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state some weeks ago makes public the commitee decisions to throw open the candiadiacy of its presidential flag-bearer, so, all its aspirants who has expressed desire to contest the presidential elections under its party can freely do so while the option also give room for party delegates to elect their choice of candidate as the party flag- bearer in an open contest. Although many reactions have since gripped the party position, even as the National Working Committee of the party (NEC) which is the Supreme hierarchy of the party is yet to be fully brief to ratify the Committee position so far, mist feelings have been noticed among some members of the party while others have seen the developments as the right thing to do if the party still have the desire to upset the ruling All Progressive Congress (AP...

A glances at APC Covention tomorrow The All Progressive Congress (APC), Nigeria ruling political party is set to go with its national convention on twentysix of March 2022 tomorrow. The all awaited conversation about the possibility to have the Convention or not will be finally laid to rest . As usual, the party has resolved to consensus candidature like one of it's sister political opposition party, making the President endorsed candidate the man to be unveiled tomorrow, while some of the contestants are passively not happy with the decision of the President, a look at the last night dinner with Mr.president revealed “anxieties” in faces of some of the candidates, but in Nigeria,we have puppets adults as our political leaders who can hardly cough for their pains unless they are throw out of the sharing formula. I begets the dissatisfied politicians to speak up realizing their rights had been twisted, but I foresaw a cold feet at the dinner night, even ...

The throw-back episode of Romeon Ropel. From the vintage of my room here in Nyanyan Gwadara,a suburb of Karu local government area of Nasarawa state about a 10 km drive to the heart of the famous capital of the world black race Abuja I bring you Greetings in the name of #brotherhood in the spirit of Yultide. It another time again where we all gather to celebrate with our love ones, most of us are home now, while some of us stay back and some of us are still hoping to make it down before or after the Yultide . This year called for deep reflection as it is the year we saw some our of great kings who went hunting to our thick rain forest of the Community.while we await their arrow to bring back another lion,we all join hand and spirit with the families to build another cage to keep the lions prowess when they finally come home. I count it a blessing for what has happened to us as people, our daughter was reelected back as member of the state House of Assembly for second term,we got some blast of development from some our industrious son who happen to erect our communities with one form of structures or the others.they was relative peace in our communities which is the sign of progress . While we also remember our brothers and sisters who sleep with the Greats,we also bear witness with the families because of their irreplaceable vacant created by their exist and pray they will continue to be our angels where ever they are. The year present another opportunity again to us to considered who represent the communities in the forth local government elections in our Council ward, like it or not, this is the highest point of our elective post for now,as it is the closer form of government to the people. We remember with nostalgia the times of Councilors like great late Francis Ogar,Fedelix Wonah,Eje Akpo and the living legends like Mathias Oko,Tony Ogor ,Fetus Ojedor and many others that their reign bring Many changing to our communities. I recalled very well, during the tenure of these men we can point to one thing or the others the noble works done by this people to better our communities. How time fly,as those years are far gone and if care is not put in place "we and some of our children may even lost the great achievements and memories of our heroes and heroine as history roll away their presence as we keep growing older. This throwback are what keep tribes and nation,we should as matter of need consciously fine way to celebrate this people.I hereby called on our young people to come with book that will speak our history.I will be glad to participate in such venture anytime . It is so bad how divided we are getting as people also, our communities is gradually splitting and you may be wondering what is the actual causes. Is it interest of some people that is trying to undermine the unity of the rest of us or politics is the general divider?,or it is historical as it been since the days of our fore fathers.I think the two last question is expected but the last one is not something I can contemplate because Gabu had not being divided like these before even when all the communities were in one place before some of them start looking for farmlands to places like Oturukpo and Oturkpo,so why is the mainland of Gabu as I had choose to called it now start having problem within themselves ? Many reasons may had be explained but I don't think it is convincing as many speakers I had listen to had not tell me what is the real problems yet.I being to wonder when I heard our people saying, "I m going to Adekpe General Meeting,Ega General Meeting Ajemole Meeting and so forth. The noble voice of National Council of Gabu Indigene(NACOGI) had being wetting,as the nomenclature of our father houses is out-doing the best goal of NACOGI founding fathers. From my experience ,no community grow this way,and we may setting a dangerous precedent awaiting the time when our community later became a big town.if care is not noted, kind of communities rivalries we heard of in some easterner communities will be repeated in our land as we keep falling apart . Gabu must not throw this part, men with characters must speak out now, who is from Ega that the mother is not from Adekpe or who is from Otrukpo that his or her mother or father is from Ega,or vice visa?, are we not families before forming the community? I don't think Land should be our problem for now,if Abuja that had all the great men and richest men in Africa can still provide space for people to build their houses after about thirty seven years of continuous city development, then they is space for every son and daughter of Gabu.I implored us to think of the kind of society we are going to leave behind for our people because we will be nothing without these noble memory. The local government election is here, our stake is the local government chairman, because the Councilor is our own no matter what party he or she belong, all we need to do is make sure whoever is elected the Councilor is reputable in character and love for the community. We should market our good - heads to the Local government Council, because if such a person is experience he should be proactive enough to draw attention to give us attention and probably win us projects.although our state is gradually leaving the one party statue to variable opposition, so if at all, other political parties are allow to participate in the coming elections, our voting partner should reflect our community interest . I want to used this opportunity also to called on our able daughter Hon.Reginal Ayogo to haste up with the construction of the road she early flank off, I recalled, all the innuendos the rehabilitation of the road generated, her social media handlers were fighting every ones to proved, she is the one behind the road then.so why the sudden drop of the road?,is it your own community you want to played politics with?. My Honorable,it will be a disgraceful things as people if we can not benefit from your eight years representation.I had Alway hold the position as a journalist and legislative reporter for some years now.it is true, you can't award a contract looking at how state Assemblies are administered by the governors in the country, but Honorable, you can influence Executive support with your motions and bills. Already I was hint that, you capture the road in this year budget of the state which is a right step by you,Honorable, you should as well lobby for the project execution, most at time,as things work in this part of the world, you push to get your rights as it is not easily given. For example,I early suggest you pursued the amendment of the cross River state boundary commission bill that will created an agency or if the agency is already there, with its amendment, you can insert some few lines that will compulsory bring the recognition of Gabu, and Alifokpa to mark the Great Wall of Lord Lugard boundary which the communities will serve as a landmark point of demarcation between the south and North and other boundary towns with your constituents ,I believe the governor will buy this and before you know, gradually we may moving toward the point of reference in the national map which can attract us more government presence. I also advised, you can also draw grants to your community through a non profit organization. I' advised you just register one and with your position in government,a trust is easily built with donors agents and with right projects proposal by your team members, you are good to go and this organization will also outlive your political era. "We" ll continue to hold all our representatives in limelight till you do the right things, say, some of us don't praise you on social media should not been seen as enemies or bad belle as it is commonly refer in local palace ,I hold all of you in high regard and wish all of you the best.
