NDC Assembly Candidate Promises Fresh Ideas, Inclusive Leadership

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for the Obudu State Constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly, Hon. Francis Agaba, has declared that his ambition to represent the constituency in 2027 will, if successful, usher in a new political chapter for the people of Obudu.


Agaba said his emergence on the NDC platform had introduced what he described as a fresh political option ahead of the 2027 election, promising to bring new ideas, inclusive leadership and stronger representation to the constituency.


The politician, who spoke with journalists in Utugwang, Obudu Local Government Area, during the community’s New Yam celebration, said his entry into the Assembly race was driven by a desire to provide what he described as effective representation, people-oriented legislation and a renewed commitment to development.

“

Coming with a message centred on inclusive leadership, good legislation, entrenchment of governance, development and a renewed commitment to the people of Obudu and Cross River State, my participation in the state lawmaking would be rewarding and reassuring,” Agaba said.

He promised, if elected, to integrate, unite and harmonise social activities and initiatives capable of promoting development, peace and unity among the people of the constituency.


According to him, the 2027 election should give voters an opportunity to assess the records, competence, character and vision of all candidates seeking their mandate.


“For the NDC and its growing supporters, I will represent more than just another name on the ballot. My emergence is being projected as a new political option capable of challenging established narratives and broadening the choice available to voters across the streets of Obudu,” he declared.

Agaba, who has considerable political experience and grassroots exposure, said his campaign would focus on reconnecting political representation with the aspirations of ordinary constituents.

He also described the coming election as an opportunity for the people of Obudu to demand stronger legislative representation and development-focused governance.

As political activities ahead of the 2027 elections intensify, Agaba’s candidacy has generated discussions among political stakeholders and supporters of the NDC, with his campaign presenting the contest as an opportunity for voters to consider alternatives to established political arrangements.

The NDC candidate said he was confident that his participation would change the political conversation in Obudu State Constituency.

“As the race gradually gathers momentum, one thing is becoming increasingly clear: the 2027 political equation is no longer business as usual.

“With Hon. Francis Agaba on the ballot, the people of Obudu State Constituency are set to witness a contest where new ideas, fresh perspectives and the power of the electorate will take centre stage.


“2027 is coming. The political narrative will change,” Agaba declared.
