We Remember. We Honour. We Will Never Forget’ — [PO]

NEW YORK — Twenty-five years after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, [PO] has joined Americans in New York in prayers and a solemn service of remembrance for the thousands of innocent lives lost in one of the darkest days in modern history.

Speaking after the remembrance service, [PO] said the pain of the tragedy remains deeply felt by families who lost loved ones and by a nation that has continued to preserve the memory of the victims.

[PO] also paid tribute to the firefighters, police officers, first responders and ordinary citizens who ran towards danger to rescue others, describing their courage and selflessness as a lasting testament to the best of humanity.

The former leader stressed that the sanctity of human life should transcend nationality, race, religion and political differences.

“Human life is sacred, and our shared humanity must unite us, especially in our darkest moments.”

He extended heartfelt sympathy, prayers and solidarity to families still mourning loved ones lost in the attacks and to the American people.

[PO] prayed that the souls of the victims would continue to rest in peace, while urging the world to draw lessons from the tragedy and pursue peace, compassion, justice and respect for human life over hatred and terrorism.

“We remember. We honour. We will never forget,” he said.

Following the remembrance service, [PO] continued with a series of high-level meetings in New York, which concluded late on Thursday.

He said he remained prayerful to God Almighty for a peaceful world free from hatred, violence and terror.
